Patient Airlifted After Single-Car Overturn Crash in Calverton

On the afternoon of June 7th 2017, Riverhead Ambulance was alerted for a motor vehicle accident in Calverton. Upon arrival of EMS, it was discovered that a single vehicle had overturned multiple times and the occupant fled the scene. After a search of the area, the patient was located approximately a 1/2 mile from the scene of the crash in critical condition.

A helicopter was requested from the Suffolk County Police Department and the Riverhead Fire Department was requested to secure a landing zone in the parking lot of Splish Splash.

The patient was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.
