Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance was one of more then 20 departments that responded to a large fire at the Jet Sanitation Facility in Islandia on the morning of January 11, 2017. Members provided stand-by coverage at the scene in the event of any injuries and operated under the command of Chief Rod Richardson.
