Riverhead Ambulance Rescues Injured Motocross Rider

On the afternoon of January 16th, Riverhead Ambulance responded to the Moto 1 racetrack on Edwards Ave for an injured rider. Upon arrival, Chief Rod Richardson assumed command and determined that the injured person was located on the track approximately 1 mile into the woods. While the ambulance crew treated the injured person, Chief Richardson requested the assistance of the Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Woodland Rescue Team to extricate the patient out of the woods. The patient was treated and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center.
