Riverhead Ambulance Responds to Structure Fire

On the morning of January 28th, Riverhead Ambulance along with Riverhead Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire in Calverton. Riverhead Ambulance stood by on scene to provide medical care in the event of any injuries while Riverhead Fire Department tackled extinguishing a large barn that was completely engulfed in flames. Flanders Northampton Ambulance and Mattituck Fire Department provided medical coverage for the remainder of the district while Riverhead Ambulance covered the fire. Personnel operated on scene for approximately 3 hours and were under the command of Chief Richardson and Lieutenant Ceckowski. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Riverhead Town Fire Marshal.
