House Fire in Calverton

On the afternoon of March 3rd, Riverhead Ambulance along with Riverhead Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire in Calverton. Riverhead Ambulance stood by on scene to provide medical care in the event of any injuries while Riverhead Fire Department and multiple mutual aid departments tackled extinguishing a house fire. Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance provided medical coverage for the remainder of the district while Riverhead Ambulance covered the fire. Personnel operated on scene for approximately 3 hours and were under the command of Chief Richardson and Lieutenant Caron.

One Firefighter was treated at the scene and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor burns.

he cause of the fire is under investigation by the Riverhead Town Fire Marshal and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.
