Accident Sends Multiple People To Local Hospitals

On the evening of May 20th, Riverhead Ambulance was dispatched to a two car crash with multiple injuries in Calverton. Upon the arrival of Assistant Chief Amanda Zilnicki, it was determined that there were 4 patients that would require medical attention, putting all of RVAC's resources to work.

Riverhead Fire Department was requested to the scene to extricate one patient. An ambulance from the Wading River Fire Department was also requested along with a helicopter from the Suffolk County Police Department.

3 patients were transported by ground to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries and 1 was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

All units operated under the command of Assistant Chief Amanda Zilnicki.
